One of the biggest fashion events of the year has just got even bigger! Due to overwhelming public demand the Asian Style Awards (ASAs) will now be held on the 1St November. Organisers of the show were happy to change the scheduled date of the 12th July to 1st November following calls from several businesses who wanted more time for their customers to vote in these prestigious awards. Thousands of votes have already flooded in and nominations will now close on the 31st August. The Asian Style Awards have been created to acknowledge the growing South Asian fashion and beauty industry by rewarding successful individuals and companies working within the UK. The glamorous launch of the awards was held in December with Bollywood star Dino Morea and former ‘Eastenders’ and ‘Bad Girls’ actress Nicola Stapleton, along with Pakistani heart-throb and fashion entrepreneur Humayun Saeed. The ASA is now one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year. Once the votes close all votes will be verified and short listed by region. A special panel of judges have been selected from around UK and South Asia to then judge the finalists from the short listed candidates, who will be announced in October. Fatima Patel, Chief Executive for the ASA says of the Awards: “We are thrilled with the support we are receiving from local businesses. So when they asked us for more time for their customers to vote we were more than happy to oblige. The votes so far show that there are already some clear front runners for the regional short lists so if your favourite’s aren’t amongst them get voting!” Remember voting is for any business who is a provider of South Asian related fashion and beauty products and services, and not for Asian businesses only. The Asian Style Awards will take place at Alexandra Palace in London on 1ST November so if you want to see your local ‘Style Guru’ walk away with the ultimate accolade go to www.asianstyleawards.org.uk and cast your vote!
