LONDON, U.K – January 22, 2008 – Headed by 2468.Tv, London will host the inaugural South Asian Supermodel Awards 2008 - an unprecedented event which will represent all South Asian nations.
For the forthcoming event, 2468.tv will be working in association with leading film producer Ashwani Chopra – a prominent figure in Indian cinema. This has led to the agreement of a long term relationship between 2468.tv and Bollywood – the world’s largest film industry.
Unlike similar contests in the past, the South Asian Supermodel Awards 2008, which will be held at the end of the calendar year, will be an amalgam of all South Asian countries, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and all neighbouring countries as well as the South Asian Diasporas, therefore creating a truly global experience. For such a huge event, the preparations have imperatively begun in earnest since the turn of 2007, resulting in the start of ‘Phase One’ and the beginnings of ‘Phase Two’.
50 male and 50 female contestants will be selected in accordance with the set criteria, making this event an exclusively non-gender-bias venture. All contestants will then converge to London for the biggest night of their lives, where they will be closely scrutinised by esteemed judges and to avoid the often complicated ‘category winners’, the South Asian Supermodel Awards will declare one elite winner in relation to the comprehensive system. Additionally, 2468.tv is working closely with technology and new-media companies in order to put in place an interactive voting process for viewing audiences – resulting in a truly globalised event which aims to exploit the contemporary popular live-show format.
The show not only promises to be an evening of glitz and glamour but it will also be full of energy with enthralling entertainment. 2468.tv promises that in between the competition there will be a host of prominent stars setting the stage alight with sizzling performances.
A lot of effort has been made to promote the show as vastly as possible; many agents have been recruited across North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australasia.
