STAR, a wholly owned subsidiary of News Corporation and Asia’s leading media and entertainment company, has announced the appointment of Yeshpal Sharma as its Vice President of Distribution and Advertising Sales for the U.K. and continental Europe. Yeshpal will oversee STAR’s operations across the territory, working to expand advertising sales and distribution of STAR’s highly popular Indian and Chinese language television services. Yeshpal, who joins STAR from Eurosport, will report to David Wisnia, STAR’s Senior Vice President for Distribution and Sales and head of STAR’s North American and European offices. “With the continued expansion of Asian communities across the U.K. and Europe, we have a real opportunity to further increase our presence,” said Wisnia. “Yeshpal, along with the talented team we have in place, will be counted on to grow our revenue base in line with the excitement that the STAR brand is generating among our growing number of viewers here.” Yeshpal joins STAR from Eurosport where he has served as Sponsorship Director: Eurosport Global HQ – Paris since 2007. Prior to this, he was the Business Development Director for Octagon in the UK. |
