Desihits.com have joined forces with American pop sensation Sean Kingston to launch a global remix competition for his hit song ‘Beautiful Girls’. Sean Kingston has given the smash, a desi flavour with new lyrics, hook and renamed it ‘Bollywood Girls’ name dropping Aishwarya Rai, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, Malaika Arora Khan and Priyanka Chopra.
True to their urban desi audience, desihits.com are continually pushing the boat out with creating urban and desi collaborations. The track is now at the centre of a huge global remix competition put together by desihits.com, launching on 8th October 2008. Five of the world’s top desi producers DJ Suketu (Bombay), Tigerstyle (Scotland, UK), Nikhil Chinapa & DJ Nawed (Bombay) and The Bilz (Montreal, CA) have been asked to produce and submit their own versions and remixes of an originally urban track re-titled ‘Bollywood Girls’, utilising the new lyrics which will be posted on the site.
Sean Kingston explains, “When DesiHits.com came to me with an idea to rework my hit record into ‘Bollywood Girls’, I had no idea how beautiful the actresses in Bollywood really were! So reworking the lyrics to my track was a no-brainer. I’m excited to hear how these Desi remixes come out. I want everyone to check out the Desi remixes for “Bollywood Girls” on DesiHits.com to help me pick out the best one. Can you get me Malaika’s (Bollywood Actress) number?”
The remixers will battle it out online, to gain the support and votes of a worldwide audience who will be able to stream and vote for their favorite remix. The winning remixer will be selected on October 22nd, 2008 and if the winning track is commercially used, and then the winner will receive a “cash prize” and more importantly the bragging rights for being the one behind the remixed track. The winner selected will also have an opportunity to remix another song for Sean Kingston‘s forthcoming album.
