Who will be Miss Trinidad & Tobago UK 2007?

Carivog International UK is delighted to be hosting the Miss Trinidad & Tobago UK 2007 for the fifth year running. Under the distinguished patronage of Her Excellence Mrs Glenda Morean-Phillip, High Commissioner of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago to London, it will be held at the Porchester Hall, London W2 on September 29th. The purpose of this event is to select a UK based Trinbagonian beauty to be a cultural ambassador representing Trinidad & Tobago in the UK, which may also result in international appearances.
The current title holder, Miss Chandani Persaud will be concluding her reign in the handover ceremony at this year’s pageant. Prior to this, she will travel to Trinidad & Tobago to perform official duties at the beginning of September 2007.

The ten beauties, of part or full Trinidad & Tobago parentage and resident in the United Kingdom, will parade in carnival costumes, traditional wear, swimsuits and evening gowns from designers based in either Trinidad & Tobago or the United Kingdom. They will be representing both selected areas of Trinidad & Tobago and their United Kingdom area of residence. The finalists will be judged on the basis of how they present themselves as well as the two minute presentation they will make on the night. The presentation, which could be a verbal or vocal one, is to be based on the district of Trinidad & Tobago they are representing.

1. Esther Ramtahal, South East London, Miss Siparia
Esther is 18 years old. Her hobbies are playing drums, art (painting), music and fashion. She is a sales assistant and lists her accomplishments as: 2 A’ Levels and 11 GCSE’s. Her ambition is to be a fashion designer.

2. Valenee Gosine, Kent, Miss San Francique-Penal
Valenee is 23 years old. Her hobbies are travelling, playing the piano, singing, acting, dancing, reading, and cultural activities. She is a primary school teacher and lists her accomplishments as: a BA (Honours) in Primary Education, 3 A’Levels and 8 GCSE's. Her ambition is to be successful and happy.

3. Rhandelle Legay, West London, Miss Arima*
* The London Borough of Haringey is twinned with Arima.
Rhandelle is 18 years old. Her hobbies are dancing, cooking, other cultures, languages, Spanish and Arabic. She is a 6th Form Student and lists her accomplishments as: 3 A’Levels (Psychology, Law, English), 7 GCSE's, and is a Junior Community Sports Leader. Her ambition is to be a criminologist.

4. Jacqueline Baker, Essex, Miss Port-of-Spain
Jacqueline is 25 years old. Her hobbies are sports, modelling, singing, acting, salsa dancing, and volunteering with a London based charity. She is a public relations assistant for a leading charity and lists her accomplishments as: a BA in Multi Media Journalism, 3 A’Levels (Media Studies, English & Computer Science). Her ambition is to be a foreign news correspondent with the UK based SKY News and maintain voluntary work.

5. Michelle Supersad, Hertfordshire, Miss Cunupia
Michelle is 24 years old. Her hobbies are sports, cooking, dancing, reading, modelling, acting and making friends. She is a data inputter and lists her accomplishments as: studying for a master’s in IT Development and Web Designing. Her ambition is to be successful.

6. Stacey-Ann Reyes-Pile, North London, Miss Chaguanas
Stacey-Ann is 19 years old. Her hobbies are acting, sports, music, hair & beauty. She is an A’Level student and lists her accomplishments as 5 GCSE’s (English, Drama, Music, Media, Graphic Art). Her ambition is to be an actress.

7. Sarah Mahabir, Surrey, Miss Santa Cruz
Sarah is 18 years old. Her hobbies are performing, choreography, dancing, acting and writing music. She is a final year A’Level student and lists her accomplishments as A’levels in drama and dance performance studies. Her ambition is to be a successful and famous performer.

8. Sophia Williams, Middlesex, Miss Tobago
Sophia is 20 years old. Her hobbies are swimming, working out in the gym, and running. She is a university student and lists her accomplishments as being a 1st year Business Management student at Middlesex University and an NVQ in Level 2 Business Administration. Her ambition is to fund her own business and until such time, to work for a large firm whilst travelling and modelling.

9. Sade Selvon Abrahams, South East London, Miss Maracus Valley, St Joseph
Sade is 22 years old. Her hobbies are writing poetry, performance, reading and charity work. She is a personal assistant and lists her accomplishments as a certificate in media and 6 GCSE’s. Her ambition is to strive to make a difference.

10. Asha Lushington, Kent, Miss D’Abadie
Asha is 20 years old. Her hobbies are sports, drawing & painting, singing, fashion design and sewing. She is a student of fashion and lists her accomplishments as studying fashion design at Hertfordshire University, 2 A’Levels and 7 GCSE’s. Her ambition is to succeed at university and become a successful fashion designer.

The evening’s cultural showcase and entertainment will also mark the bicentennial anniversary of the abolishment of slavery in the UK and the anniversary of Trinidad & Tobago becoming a Republic. It will be a blend of live performances reflective of the cultural diversity of Trinidad & Tobago, including: African dance, soca and steel band music and salsa, the dance that is currently very popular in Trinidad & Tobago, as is the rest of the world. The confirmed performers are: Jahson, Soul Logic, Ebony Steelband, Brown Sugar, Iris De Brito and Damarys Farres.
