Local businesses in Newham are being offered a great opportunity to attend a free event which aims to help small businesses take advantage of tendering opportunities in local and central government.
The ‘Recession proof your business’ event hosted by Rich Visions aims to provide small to medium enterprises (SME) with information on how to identify, apply and successfully win public sector contracts. Businesses will be able to pick up bid writing tips as well as information on challenges and barriers faced when tendering.
“We are trying to give local businesses an advantage” explained Mavis Amankwah, Managing Director for Rich Visions PR, based in Stratford. “Local businesses need to become ‘tender ready’ to enable them to bid for and win public sector contracts. Large companies are reviewing their supply chains to provide opportunities for smaller businesses and events like this enable businesses to make the most of these opportunities”.
Speakers at the event include Ruth Brothwell Olympic Delivery Authority, Michael Gutierrez Supply London, Peter Watkinson HSBC and Jean Coleman from L B Newham.
The event which is set to take place on Thursday 11th September at the Holiday Inn Express Stratford, will include case studies from Prime Coffee and Rich Visions, two Newham based businesses who have successfully tendered for contracts.
The event is from 9.30am – 5.00pm and is split into two parts with a morning workshop for newcomers to tendering and afternoon seminars with practical advice and case studies on how to win Olympic business.
