Precious Awards seeks enterprising nominees

Images Video Audio
The search is on for the UK's most entrepreneurial women of colour. Precious Online Magazine and Network has announced that nominations have opened for The Precious Awards sponsored by Pearson plc.
The Awards are an opportunity to promote those inspiring individuals that generate ideas and turn them into action and change. Social Enterprise, Creative and Online Entrepreneurs, are among those set to be honoured. As well as celebrating female entrepreneurs the Awards also pay tribute to women that play a leadership role within a large organisation.

Foluke Akinlose, Founder of Precious Online Magazine and Network, said:
“The Awards are about creating role models, raising the profile of female entrepreneurs and encouraging other women to start their own businesses. The contribution that ethnic entrepreneurs make to the British economy is significant, and we want to acknowledge and celebrate that fact.“

Abu Bundu-Kamara, Diversity Manager UK, Pearson PLC said: ”Our support for the Precious Awards is about recognising talent and diversity in whatever form it takes. We are delighted to be part of this key event, which acknowledges the skills, ambition and success of Black and Asian women in the UK. As ever, Precious is a fantastic partner to work with and we look forward to many more years of collaboration.”

More information and nomination forms can be found at http://www.preciousawards.com
Winners will be announced on Thursday November 20 2008 at a high profile event hosted by Hannah Pool, Guardian columnist and author and Rasheed Ogunlaru, the leading UK- business coach.
