The event titled ‘How to effectively reach and engage with diverse communities’, hosted by ethnic communications agency Rich Visions Ltd, aims to provide central & local government, local services and private businesses with information, advice and guidance to sustain relationships with the UK’s disparate communities. The seminar will offer free tips and advice on how to implement effective communication strategies, in addition to, addressing sensitive issues from a cultural and religious perspective. There will also be expert advice from ethnic communications guru Mavis Amankwah (Managing Director of Rich Visions) and Founder of DiversityLink.co.uk Asif Yusuf, as well as successful case studies from one of the UK’s top PR consultancies Trimedia. Representatives from leading specialist titles The Trumpet and the Polish Express will also be giving talks on working with ethnic media and journalists. Patricia Macauley, Head of Cultural Diversity COI commented: The one- size fits all communication approach is inappropriate as the UK is becoming more culturally diverse. Understanding how to engage ethnic minorities is imperative when developing effective communication strategies. This event is a good opportunity to gain insights and share learnings.” The event will take place at Newham Town Hall, Barking Road, East Ham, London E6 2RP from 9am – 1pm. Spaces are limited.
