Inspirational BAME entrepreneur to offer advice at free 'We Mean Business' women's event

Award-winning* cultural diversity guru and business entrepreneur Mavis Amankwah will be sharing tips on how to increase sales revenue at the FREE ‘We Mean Business’ event, hosted by Business Link in London, on Thursday 12 June 2008; designed to empower and inspire female entrepreneurs with businesses established for 12 months and over.
Mavis Amankwah, Managing Director of ethnic communications agency Rich Visions, who were recently selected for the Central Office of Information’s (COI) Cultural Diversity Approved Suppliers List (part of a framework worth approximately £3 million per annum); will be providing key tips and advice to assist businesses to engage more sales through PR techniques on a shoestring budget.

The event, ‘We Mean Business; Providing the Capital’s female entrepreneurs with the skills for success’, will provide delegates with impartial, practical and personal advice on how to meet growth challenges to take their business to the next level. Delegates will also be able to meet their local Business Link in London adviser as well as have the opportunity to network with other established business women whilst admiring a spectacular view of the Thames under the arches of Tower Bridge.

Mavis Amankwah, Managing Director, Rich Visions commented: “Research has shown that - **in all groups except 'other Asian' ethnic minority women are more entrepreneurial than their white counterparts.”

Amankwah continues: “However, running your own business can be an extremely challenging experience without the correct advice and support. Therefore it is imperative that you take advantage of specialist events such as ‘We Mean Business’ to find out how to access resources available to help you to succeed.”

The evening will also feature inspirational speaker Liz Jackson who will tell her extraordinary story of how she grew her business ‘Great Guns’ to turnover more than £2.5 million today. There will also be informative workshops on popular business topics running throughout the evening. These include presentations from specialist Business Link in London adviser Benjamin Smart and Penny Power founder of Social Network Ecademy which attracts millions of users each year worldwide.

***There will also be crèche facilities to make it easier for those with children to attend.
