Edinburgh Mela 2006 Fever With Western Union

Images Video Audio
The whole of Edinburgh will be unable to resist the temptation of making their way to Pilrig Park on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd September 2006 from 12pm to 9:00pm for the biggest intercultural event in Edinburgh - The Edinburgh Mela, proudly sponsored by Western Union Money Transfer.
Thousands of people are expected to attend in order to participate and celebrate a plethora of rich and colourful South Asian culture. Entertainment acts have travelled from across the globe to join in the celebrations with performances from Malkit Singh, the best Punjabi Bhangra artist. Other acts include renowned UK Bhangra performer Sukhshinda Shinda, Jinx, Mentor, Bohemia and NRG. Community activities and information will mix together with sports events, family fun, competitions, interactive workshops, plenty of stalls, bazaars and much more. Furthermore, Western Union Money Transfer will be adding to the festivities by hosting an array of family activities to tantalise your cultural taste buds.

And what better way to send money to loved ones during this festive occasion than through the reduced fee 2-Day Service to South Asian countries starting from only £9.90**. The Western Union Money Transfer service allows money to be sent and picked up in the local currency at its destination within minutes, subject to time zone and local operating hours. In the UK, the Western Union service is available at most branches of Going Places, Thomson, First Choice, The Money Shop, AMEX, Cash Converters, building societies, bureaux de change, newsagents, pharmacies and other retail agents. Western Union’s free phone number is 0800 833 833, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for details of agent locations or to make a debit/credit card transaction.

John Campbell, Head of Marketing for FEXCO MT, Western Union’s UK representative, comments, “Every year we love being such a fundamental part of the mela family activities nationwide. As do the melas, Western Union strive to provide the community with a sense of merriment and loyalty.”
