The Scottish Minority Ethnic Achievement Awards 2009

Team 11 are delighted to announce details of the much awaited annual Scottish Minority Ethnic Achievement Awards.

The Hilton Glasgow Hotel will host this dazzling evening of recognition and celebration on the 25th June 2009. The awards ceremony will comprise of a champagne reception, followed by a sumptuous five course meal, spectacular entertainment and speeches by eminent dignitaries. The ceremony will be televised by Sony Entertainment Television Asia.

The contributions made by Minority Ethnic Communities are invaluable to the economic, social and cultural development of Scotland. The annual Scottish Minority Ethnic Achievement Awards are designed to recognise and celebrate these significant contributions. This prestigious awards ceremony offers a platform to showcase, highlight and reward organisations and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution in their respective fields. From dynamic young entrepreneurs to well-established veterans, Minority Ethnic businesses continue to make an impact on Scotland’s economic success.

These awards are unique as they also take cognisance of the many facets that contribute to the social fabric of Scotland; recognising and celebrating the valuable work carried out in the areas of youth and community and its impact on achieving social and cultural cohesion.

Last years Awards, hosted by STV presenter Bernard Ponsonby, were an outstanding success attracting over 500 high profile guests including iconic figures representing an array of disciplines from business and politics to sports and showbiz.

Nominations are now open and flooding in for the 2009 Scottish Minority Ethnic Achievement Awards. Nomination forms are available online at www.minorityethnicawards.co.uk, or in print in Awaz Newspaper. Post your completed nomination forms to Team 11 or alternatively nominate your choices online via the website. Nominations close on Friday 12th June 2009.
