Textiles expert weaves knowledge

A WOMAN with international experience of a sector of great importance to minority ethnic communities in the West Midlands has taken up a role on a key advisory Board.

Davinder Kaur has joined the West Midlands Minority Ethnic Business Forum that provides strategic advice to Advantage West Midlands and other partners.

She has experience in the UK and Europe including a period managing a women’s fashions business in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Davinder put this knowledge to good use as manager of the Midlands Clothing Resource Centre, which provided business advice and training to companies operating in textiles and clothing.

Currently, she is managing a voluntary sector organisation – The Sandwell Women’s Development Agency (SWEDA) which provides advice, mentoring, training and support to clients in Birmingham, the Black Country and surrounding areas.

Previously Davinder was a Business Link advisor and trainer working with a portfolio of more than 200 businesses.
