Senior BERR chief visits West Midlands

A SENIOR Whitehall official is visiting the West Midlands for a briefing with the region’s Minority Ethnic Business leaders.

Elisabeth Campbell, Assistant Director of Enterprise, with the Department for Business and Regulatory Reform (BERR) is in Birmingham on Tuesday (May 12) to meet with the West Midlands Minority Ethnic Business Forum.

As well as her role with BERR, Ms Campbell also provides the secretarial support for the National Minority Ethnic Business Forum and works closely with its co-chairman, James Caan.

“We will be discussing the issues that are important to minority ethnic business leaders as well as highlighting some of our achievements,” said Mohammad Nazir, chair of the West Midlands Minority Ethnic Business Forum.

“In this region more than any other future prosperity will depend upon minority ethnic entrepreneurs and we believe that the Forum has taken a lead in key areas and can show the way to other parts of the country,” he commented.

The West Midlands Minority Ethnic Business Forum provides strategic advice to the regional development agency Advantage West Midlands and other key partners.
