For the first time, MSDUK is offering ethnic minority businesses (EMBs) the chance to exhibit and showcase their products and services at one of the most prestigious venues in the UK.
Explains Mayank Shah, business development director for MSDUK: “This event is aimed at corporate buyers, internal clients and first tier suppliers. In just one day, under one roof, they can meet and engage with some of the UK’s best minority suppliers.
“Corporations will also be able to raise the profile of their supplier diversity programmes amongst the EMB community.”
35 EMBs have already signed up to exhibit and a number of MSDUK’s corporate members including Merrill Lynch, GW Professional, Tyco, Lehman Brothers and ExxonMobil have also reserved exhibition booths.
In addition to the exhibition, MSDUK and senior corporate executives will be running a series of procurement workshops and seminars specifically aimed at EMBs. A delegation, led by Harriet Michel, president of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), MSDUK’s sister organisation in the USA, comprising top corporate executives from US multinationals and 15 US EMBs will also be attending the Business Opportunity Fair 2008.
Continues Mayank: “Interest has already been high with over 100 buyers getting in touch to find out how they can attend – people can take exhibition space or simply register as a delegate for the day. We also have a variety of sponsorship packages available for EMBs and corporate member organisations.”
An exhibition booth for MSDUK corporate members is £2,000 + VAT and full day delegate registration is £50 + VAT per person. For non-MSDUK members or private/public sector organisations interested in supplier diversity, full day registration is £250 + VAT per person.
Concludes Mayank: “This is a unique event which encompasses a number of opportunities for EMBs and corporations to discuss supplier diversity and ‘do business’. We’ve held some hugely successful events over the last few months and I firmly believe that the MSDUK Business Fair 2008 will be one of our very best.”
