Environmental businesswoman takes a lead

A DIRECTOR of an award winning environmental business in Birmingham has taken on a leadership role for minority ethnic entrepreneurs.

Sharon Warmington is a director of Biofuels International that provides an environmentally friendly fuel log made from waste leaves that would otherwise find their way into landfill.

The award winning leaflog product has made Sharon a name as an African Caribbean businesswoman throughout the West Midlands.

She has now joined the Board of the West Midlands Minority Ethnic Business Forum that provides strategic advice to the regional development agency Advantage West Midlands and other partners on how to promote entrepreneurship amongst the region’s minority ethnic communities.

Sharon has helped to grow her business based in Nechells from four to 14 employees in just 12 months. The company sells into UK and European markets including Spain, Ireland and the Czech Republic.
