Yasmin Mahmood, Campaign Manager for Oceanic Consulting said “We are very happy to have HSBC on board as our title sponsor for this event. Through its Multicultural Banking service, HSBC has developed a fantastic relationship with the Asian Business community. This makes them an ideal candidate to be our partner for the English Asian Business Awards. We look forward to working with them to make this event a memorable night for everyone in attendance.”
Although this is the first time the awards will take place an equivalent event has been held in Scotland for the past 6 years. It has become a major event, attended by well known figures in business and politics. Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond has been a keynote speaker at past events and Prime Minister David Cameron and Business Secretary Vince Cable have both expressed their support for the event.
Dalip Puri, head of multi cultural banking for HSBC, said: “The English Asian Business Awards celebrates the achievements of successful business people and we’re delighted to be supporting this multi-cultural event in England. HSBC’s global reach and unique international capabilities continue to provide advantages for our diverse customer base, at home and overseas, particularly as an increasing number of innovative English small and medium enterprises seek to fulfil their exporting potential.”
